Port Wind Data Transmitter System

Improving safety and reducing your cost

More than 20 years Mierij Meteo supplies accurate port wind data to several ferry operators (P&O Ferries / Norlfolk Line) from the main ports in the Netherlands, UK, Belgium and France.

At these Ports a mast with Mierij Meteo Wind Sensors and a Data Transmitter System is installed. The Data Transmiter System transmits the data approx. 40 miles up to the North Sea. The vessels are equipped with Mierij Meteo Receiver Units and Meteorological Displays. Approx. 2 hours before approaching the Port the Meteo data will be received and displayed at the bridge. Depending to the Meteorological situation in the port the captain is able to take thwe right decisions (like rent for pilots or tugboats) for a safe approach of the port.

The Mierij Meteo Port Wind Data Transmitter System improves your safety and reduces your costs for unneeded rent for pilots and tugboats.

Mierij Meteo has for over 20 years experience with these kind of systems and at this moment 23 vessels are using this Port Wind Data System between the Ports:
· Rotterdam
· Zeebrugge
· Hull
· Middlesbrough
· Dunkerque
